your posts are awesome.
Comics like these are why I'm a fan :)
How utterly heartwarming.
=)
This is so great. I am going to print this out and put it on my cubicle wall so that everyone who stops by my desk will think about how they can make the world a better place by helping other people feel good.
Hey! Your comic is awesome and you're awesome for making it!
Wow, that's a really nice comic. It's actually something i really enjoy too. Sometimes a smile to a random stranger can go miles.
Or you just might be considered a creeper. ;)
Your comics are so f awesome! I don't understand why there's no comments screaming it!
Your comics are awesome, and you're awesome for doing them
This is the most excellent illustration of how we can change someone's life simply, easily, and for free. No car lifting required.
Thank you,
kmbr
You made my day.
Yellow hat
Big hat
Unusual hat
Awesome hat
Unique hat
Gigantic hat
Antiquated hat
"Ugly" destroys the point you were trying to make and makes the superpower "lying."
Now there you go - being nice to Mr Pharrell has made him "Happy". That's a real magic super power :)
this needs to be a print. i need this on my wall.
True, even a small power can help others.
would it be possible to purchase a print of this?
Great comic as usual, wish you had an upvote button
This one is fantastic. I'm printing it out right now to put up on my cubical wall in my office. This is something we all need a reminder of.
No one is lying. I think many things are both "ugly" and "awesome"
whlere there is no such thing as perfection...this comic is wonderful. things like this comic shouldn't be as rare as they are today, and i'm thankful to see this here. thank you, i hope as many people see it as there will be comments on this comic, and further.
thank you, lunar, for putting this up.
i will continue to look forward to you're further works, as well as reread you're former posts.
using "ugly" made this real and relate-able on many levels. Convert "ugly" to "awesome"....isn't that the point?
I agree with jmfargo. While I don't think the intention was to come across as lying, it makes it seem less sincere that he says one thing behind his back and one thing to his face.
Point is though, be nice and compliment each other and the world will be better
I actually have a superhero setting, Terramagne, where people would do just this:

Would you mind if I put a link to your "Powers" comic from that page? I think my fans would enjoy your work. They're always looking for more family-positive stuff, and for anything that undermines the "powers always make people evil" trope.
I would really like to purchase a print of this.
An everyday reminder of how to be super!
I think "ugly" brings the message home. If he thought the hat was awesome, there would have been no "power" in what he said. He would have just said what he thought.
But he says the hat is ugly, and he nevertheless compliments the guy in order to make him feel nice. That's more powerful. He's basically saying that even if you don't agree with the views, looks or whatever of another person, it's not a good reason not to make them feel fine.
Or maybe I'm reading too much into the comic.
I think that the point with the "ugly" part is that we should always remember that even though we have a personal opinion about the looks of things, our personal opinion is not some sort of law. In the comic he lets his opinion of the hat come in at second place to the act of making the guy feel good about his ugly hat that he probably likes despite it's ugliness. And at the end of the day, your opinion on the looks of another persons hat (or other items of clothing) is very useless and really doesn't matter. What DOES matter is that everybody feels welcome in society... ugly hat or no.
