When my wife was pregnant with our first son, we nicknamed him "Ewok" because I'm so hairy that we figured he'd emerge covered in fur like an Ewok. Even after he was born (without fur covering him) and officially named, we continued to call him our little Ewok. He's still our Ewok, even if he's not so little anymore. (He's getting closer to Wookie category in height if not in fur-quantity.)
