I have a three-year old boy and my wife and I just had a daughter last November. Aside from actually, physically looking like the father in this (and my son looks like the boy on panel 2!), I can totally relate to what's going on here even if the ages are different. What a beautiful way to illustrate that part of parenthood... Kuddos!
I love this strip, it really portraits the emotions of parenthood well. It's not about "live all for your kids" but emphasize on the part where the kids grows up and grew apart from you and this feeling of lost, like something apart of you has gone away. I'm talking more on emotional level though, not a bad thing kids grow up but the emotions are there.
This is truly wonderful. At 65 and having 4 sons who are now adults, this brings back wonderful memories. I thank my son Marcus for sending this to me. Love U Marcus.
I love this comic. I am actualy the kid and I am about inbetween the 4th and 5th panels. I have a three year old niece and this comic reminds me of my 50 somthing year old dad playing with my her. I really like all of these comics. Keep up the good work!

People should learn how to live for themselves, not just their offspring.
Banda, Jesus H Christ. Stop being an asshole. Go live for yourself and never take any pride or joy in your role as a parent, fine.
Thanks for this. It is beautiful. I am lucky to be married to a man like this, and also that our sons are growing up to be so loving.

Love this. Reminds me of The Giving Tree except with a happy ending.
Definitely cool strip and so thoughtful and wise, love it! :-)
